Note of Thanks

John's family would like to convey their thanks to those of you who have contributed toward search efforts as well as those who participated in the candlelight vigil held on March 10th. They are very grateful for all you've done and continue to do.

Timeline of Events

  • Last seen at about 7 p.m. Feb. 23, at his business, Universal Cable Construction Inc., 2N255 County Farm Road, near West Chicago.
  • There are no signs of foul play at his home in the 3000 block of King Richard Court or at his business.
  • None of his vehicles are missing.
  • There has been no activity on his debit or credit cards.
  • The last call he made on his cellular telephone was to a friend at about 7:15 p.m. Feb. 23. He made dinner plans for 8:30 p.m. that night in Oak Brook
  • Rabble Rousers had a gig Saturday night at Jason’s Steakhouse in Montgomery. Spira did not show up for the performance.
  • A missing person report was filed with the St. Charles police Feb. 25 by his wife.

John Spira, Chicago Johnny Is Missing

This is no ordinary guy; as hundreds of friends and relatives will attest. Everyone has something wonderful to say about John Spira. John Michael Spira is a man of many talents; you may know him:

  • St. Charles, Illinois, resident and homeowner in the Kingswood subdivision, active in community matters.
  • Successful business owner of a utility construction firm in West Chicago, Illinois.
  • U.S. Army veteran, he was a tank driver stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado, 1979-early 1980's.
  • Private pilot (with Marchetti and warbird training) about to launch a promising aviation venture. Builder, electronics and machinery aficionado, race car builder and driver; active, fun-loving guy with a straight-forward approach to life; loved, respected, and admired by all; always helping anyone in need.
  • Music is his passion; John is an accomplished guitar and slide-guitar player who for 30 years has been mesmerizing listeners with his hard-driving, soulful blues. (For the last 4 years with the Rabble Rousers Band.)
